Fullmind Background Check Policy
Purpose
This Background Check Policy (“Policy”) sets forth Fullmind’s policies and procedures related to background checks, which ensure a safe environment for Fullmind Educators and students.
Scope
This Policy applies to all Fullmind Educators.
Background Check
All Fullmind Educators will receive a background check via JDP after they sign their 1099 contract and before they become active educators. Fullmind partners with JDP for a pre-employment background check that includes: social security number search to collect address history for jurisdictional development in determining which counties, states and federal districts to search; JDP National Criminal Search which includes criminal records, sex offender registries and more; country criminal records for specific counties based on SSN search; state criminal records in states where available; federal criminal records and JDP National Sexual Offender Records (DOJ sex offender registry including all 50 states, Washington DC, US Territories and Native American Tribe Registries of sex offenders.)
Additional Checks
Upon request, Fullmind will work with partners who have additional background check requirements.
California - Many schools and districts in CA require a CA DOJ and FBI check pursuant to CA Education Code 45125.1 to confirm an individual has not been convicted of a serious or violent felony. If you alert Fullmind to this requirement, we will complete the CA DOJ and FBI checks.
Illinois - Fullmind will follow the requirements of Faith’s law for contractors working with schools in Illinois including collecting the required forms and information from the contractor and reaching out to previous employers that fall within the required categories.
Background Check Sharing
In order to be compliant with state and Federal laws, including the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Fullmind will not share the results of background checks conducted by Fullmind. If a school partner would like to receive a copy of a contractor's background check, the school needs to request that directly from the educator. Fullmind can provide a letter indicating a background check has been completed and Fullmind’s Educator Background Check Policy has been followed.

Fullmind does not hire individuals whose background checks indicate records of violence of any kind, records of abuse against children of any kind, or felonies.
