How to Activate Two-Factor Authentication
To improve your Fullmind LMS account's security, we've now introduced two-factor authentication (2FA). This introduces an additional layer of security by requiring a randomized code from an authenticator app on your mobile device every time you log into your account. By combining a traditional password with this additional code, it ensures that even if your password is stolen, your account and information remains safe from hackers.
Before You Begin
You will need:
- Access to your Fullmind account
- A mobile device
- An authenticator application for your mobile device, such as:
- Authy
- Google Authenticator
-
Okta Verify
- Note: authenticator apps are only meant to be installed on a mobile device
- Ensure the timezone settings on both your mobile device and PC are set to automatic
Please keep in mind that after enabling 2FA for your account, you will be required to enter a code from the authenticator app each time you log in, so do not delete the app from your mobile device! The code provided by the authenticator app changes every 30 seconds, making it an essential component of the login process.
2FA Setup Process
- Log in to your account at https://lms.fullmindlearning.com and access your profile by clicking your name at the top right, or click the following link: https://lms.fullmindlearning.com/profile.
-
Scroll down the page and click two-factor authentication setup button on the right side.
- Install any of the following authentication apps on your mobile device, then scan the QR code within the popup to link it to your account. If scanning doesn't work, you can manually enter the secret key instead.
-
Complete setting up the new authentication app on your mobile device. Once the authentication app has accepted the QR code or the secret key, it will generate new codes about every 30 seconds. Copy the 6-digit verification code from the authentication app into the popup.
-
Once you've enabled 2FA, the final popup will show you a list of recovery codes - don't skip this without recording these codes! Copy the codes and keep them somewhere safe; you can use them to recover your account if you are unable to log in with your authenticator codes or do not have access to your authenticator app. Once you've finished copying the codes, click done.
Your 2FA setup should now be complete! Now each time you log in with your email and password, it will ask you to enter your 6-digit verification code from the authenticator app. Simply open the app on your mobile device, and it should display the code to enter.
- It won't ask you to log back in every day, it should only ask you to log back in every other day (if you clear your browser's cache and cookies for the LMS website, then it will ask you to log in again).
- Click the Recovery code button and use those codes you saved earlier to recover your account if the verification codes aren't working.
